17 years plus of guiding clients. In the spring from March 15th to April 15th is the best time for spider style cane pole fishing for slab crappie. Shad run is late April.Bass fishing the main river for LGMouth is from mid April to late May.Bay fishing gets started in June and is done by November. Monster cats are April to June and October to late December.Hot days and evening topwater LGMouth June to Sept. Those evening trips are truly some of the best trips for two fly fisherman or light tackle anglers.

Overcast light drizzle
Lots of fish with some very chunky ones mixed in. All caught on topwater and one snakehead hooked but not landed, The snakehead did a flip in the air to shake the hook and then greyhound-ed leaping the whole time out of sight. Coolest thing I have ever seen. Like a miniature marlin it just kept leeping...would have made a cool video for sure..
