Fairly cold night, about 48 or so. Day heated up to almost 80. Patchy clouds, but mostly clear skies. Heavy wind, 15-20 mph steady, big gusts up to 30-35.
The fish had lockjaw all day. We started off the morning with topwater lures and spinnerbaits, went to crankbaits and rattletraps, then plastics, jigs, jerkbaits...we eventually threw everything we had in the boat at them, and got nothing. One 1.5 lb crappie was caught on a big shiner, but that was the only fish caught. The only consolation was that nobody we talked to had caught anything either.
The bass are finishing their spawn, we saw a couple chasing smaller fish off the beds, but nothing would bite. Another report from two days later says that in a small 5 boat tournament, all 5 boats had 5-fish limits. It should really heat up down there soon.
