NYC Reservoir Fishing Report

Windy with gusts to 25mph, air temps in the low 40s, mostly cloudy with brief periods of sun

Knowing the water was cold and the wind was gonna be a pain, my buddy and I went to a local reservoir and planned to work the western shoreline hoping to block some of the wind. We got out between 7:30am and 2:00pm.
We expected to throw jigs and jerkbaits mainly. The main bite ended up being on hair jigs while we did get a couple of nice largemouth on baby bass pattern jerkbaits like my Rapala Husky Jerk. They didn't want any part of a regular flipping jig with or without trailers.
Here are the 2 best fish of the day, my 4lb 8oz largemouth on the jerkbait and Arthur's 3lb 6oz smallmouth on a hair jig.
