Overcast skies with a steady breeze throughout the day
Our most recent trip was on Friday, the 30th of July. We fished from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. A total of 18 largemouth bass caught. First hour we landed one fish using a Rebel Pop R(silver/black). Beginning of the second hour we caught 2 on medium running crankbaits in firetiger color. Shortly after noon the bass started pushing the baitfish to the surface to feed and we were very productive with a 4" Senko(watermelon/gold/black) fished weightless. Casted in and around the baitfish stirring on the surface. We managed to catch 2 bass that were close to 6 lbs. while we fished the hydrilla beds. Both fish were caught on the weightless Senkos dragging across the top of the grass beds. Pinnacle Watershed has been very productive this year. 50 acres of water....deepest spot close to 35' deep. I know of at least 12 bass caught that have weighed between 5 and 11 lbs over the past 4 months. I have caught 3 of them. Great water for finesse rigs and topwater !!! But beware......the water is so clear that you can see the bottom at 5 feet.
