Somewhat choopy at tjmes,still rising.
I got out near daylight this morning and went straight to "Friday holler". On my 2nd cast I got a hold of a 2.2lb smallie who thought he was 6 pounds and evidently had not seen the sky in quit a while cause he was walking on top of the water over half way back to the boat, this fish was caught on a crawdad pattern bandit in about 3' of water along a creek channel leading to a stump covered point. After only a few mjnutes my son caught a nice largemouth on a rattletrap he was just burning it back to the boat and everywhere he knew there was a stump or something under water he would almost stop it and let it flutter down to the structure and tick it then pick it up and crank hard for just a half secound and stop, then is when the fish just slammed it we got it in and it weighed 4.6lb. We fished these basic patterns for about 4 hours and ended up catching 9 keepers and 6 dinks. We live within 20 mjnutes of Bristol Motor Speedway and with the 163 thousand people in town we know when to go home and get out of the hustle and bustle. Boone Lake to me is ranked only 3rd to South Holston Lake(Which is only 30 mins away) and the Great Dale Hollow Lake(which is about 4hrs away). If you ever find your way to East Tennessee, near Tri-Cities look me up and I will give you any tips or info you need. We have 7 good size public lakes within a 95 mile stretch. Meantime keep fishin, keep it clean, keep cullen and keep it safe!
