Cold and rain
10 Mar 2011 - Lake Guntersville Fishing Report –Today, I was joined by Alex from Minnesota on Lake Nickajack for a little fun fishing. The water temperature for the most part today was 50-51.2 depending upon if you where in a sheltered area or not. Mostly cloud, some rain all day with 5-15 mph wind from the southwest, the river is still a raging torrent at 150,000+ CFS flow rate and muddy. We fished the lower end using rattle traps, square billed crank baits, Brush Hogs, Tightline Jigs and swim baits. We managed to catch a several good keeper fish working 1/2oz football Jigs in the Guntersville Special color with Mega Craws as the trailer. If you are going to be on the water this week please wear your life vest the river system is extremely dangerous with this much water flow. I have a few of days available at the end of March and I’m already booking days for the April and May, make your reservations now for some great action on Guntersville. “Let’s go fish’ in”
