20 Mar 2011 –Lake Nickajack – I was joined today by Greg for a pre-tournament action on Nickajack. Water temps started out at 55.7 and by the days end we found some 63.1. We fished the lower end and mid-lake using rattle traps, square billed crank baits, Brush Hogs, Tightline Jigs, chatter baits and t-rigged Mega Craws. We managed to catch a lots of good keeper fish in the 3-5 pound range working jigs, traps and mega craws for the most part. The fish we caught today came from 4-8 FOW. With blue bird skies, warm south wind and an air temp at started at 55 degrees. Lake level seemed to rising today and warming nicely. It won’t belong before the Nick is in full swing!
