26 July 2011- Lake Nickajack – I was joined by a returning client from Cliff and Mike from Huntsville AL and Columbia Mo. After spending the morning down on Guntersville the guys wanted to get a good look and catch a few of those Nickajack fish and that’s exactly what they did. We fished the lower end from Mullins Cove down. Water temps are holding at Mid 80’s. We fished Tightline Jigs, El Grande Plastics, Frogs and t-rigged worms. We caught fish on almost every stop with lots of good keeper fish in the 2-3.5 pound range. The vast majority of fish we caught today came from 2-8 FOW mainly on T-rigged worms and El Grande Boom R Ang’s. However, the last hour produced the most exciting bite a FROG bite! Nickajack has great ledge and channel grass fishing! It’s getting hot out there after about 10am, please drink lots of water and use sunscreen even on cloudy days.
