Ever changing
11 Aug 2011 – I spent the last couple of days filming with Joey Mines from Outdoors with Joey Mines which airs of Fox South Sports. We fished the upper end of Lake Guntersville and Lake Nickajack. We caught fish both days on a combination of lures and presentations. We had times when the action was slowed and times when we had doubles back to back. We focused on river ledges, drops and matted over grass catching fish in the 1-4 pound range, working 2-25 FOW. Water temps holding in the upper 80’s. Our better fish came on frogs, spinnerbaits and buzzbaits on the edges of the matted grass. We also caught fish on Ol’Monsters and ElGrande Boom R Ang’s. Watch for schooling bass and white bass throughout the day, you have at of fun running crank baits under them in a short period of time. We caught several nice strippers and a few nice eating size catfish below Nickajack Dam.
