Bright sunny day, wind 10-20 sw
Thursday Dec 29
I spent the day on Percy Priest with Donnie Rubel of Murfreesboro. we started the day around Fate Sanders and had some success with swimbaits off points early. The water color is pretty dirty and cold 48/49 degrees The creeks are warmer with water temps in the 53/54 range. Donnie and I decided to check some down-lake areas around Bryant's Grove area, water color here is pretty dirty as well. We finished up our day in the Elm Hill area of the lake, water temps ranged from 47 to 49 in this section of the lake. We caught several bass in this section of the lake on 3/4oz Strike King Jigs with Gene Larew craw trailers. Overall it was a solid day, bites are tough to come by and the fish with all the changing weather patterns are sluggish. The warming trend of the next few days should get the shallow bite picked back up and the jerkbait bite should be back in full swing this weekend. Hope to see you on the water, call and set a date to go.
