Cold, clear slight breeze, storm moving in
Monday Feb 13
I was a little under the weather over the weekend and had to push a trip back until today. I fished with Sam Holliday from Murfreesboro. Some of you know Sam from Murfreesboro Outdoors where he is a salesman. Sam and I met at Fate Sanders at 8am, air temp was a balmy 21 degrees when we met. We put in and the water temp was 45, a 5-6 degree drop from Friday. The water clarity was very good considering its been pretty dirty around Fate Sanders. We immediately started seeing shad popping near the surface and birds diving so we pulled out our jerkbaits and some jigs. We fished the transitions of bluffs to flats all around the Fate Sanders area up to the Jefferson Springs area of the lake. Sam had a real solid day catching several fish including a 5lber on the jerkbait. We were occasionally mixing in a jig and getting a few bites, however we were missing them because we were missing the take but feeling where they were blowing it out. Sam thanks for a fun day on the water, our next trip I will see if I can keep up! Even on the coldest days we are catching fish and even big fish, book a trip soon and see what all the fun is about.
