Occoquan Resevior Fishing Report

Ive just started fishing the Occoquan this year after I finally got my boat. I have a lot of work to do figuring this place out. I hit the water around 12 and fished till 7. My fish finder marked bass all day suspended in the deeper water (ex. 24ft and they were at 9-15 ft.) However, both yesterday and today the fish I caught were on the shore line and deep in the inlets around sunken trees. I caught 4 yesterday and 2 today. With the exception of 1 on a frog and 1 on a crankbait all others were caught off of the med size yum dancin eel in pruple and white.

While Im catching a few in structure I know my best chances for more bass is out deeper. Im going to try drop shoting and deep cranks next time out. In shallow I'm going to scale down my baits and throw more 3/8th stuff. This is a great fishery I just need to know it better.
