Potomac River Fishing Report

Got out on the Potomac river both days this weekend. Only brought one fish to the scales on Sat. I haven't been out much at all in the last two months so I spent the day searching for feeding fish. We found a lot of 10-11" little guys feeding heavily but couldn't get many good keepers. My friend hooked into a kicker that was better than 5lbs but lost it half way to the boat.
Second day I took a couple guys into one of the major grass beds on the river. A well known spot that has won many tournaments on the river. We got into a little cut through and the boat owner hooked up with a 6.3lb kicker and a 12+ lb limit on the first trip throught the bed on a crankbait. I caught two on a buzzbait and spinnerbait. After this bite ended we ran back into the creek and I picked up two more keepers on the blade off of a grass/channel edge. We headed out and went looking for more fish elsewhere and that was it for the day. The fish shut down so half the day was wasted.
