Re: Whats everyone got for a boat?
I have a 1984 Glasstream Hydrabass 1500 in Red metalflake. It may sound alittle old but it looks very much like the new 15'6" nitro. This boat was way ahead of its time. I only run a 9.5 johnson instead of the 115hp mercury because of local Hp laws. I usually use my minn kota all terrain and my 2 transom mount motors. total of 140# thrust. Most of the time i fish electric motor only lakes.
I wish glasstream was still around, they are really nice bassboats. Recently i saw a black metal flake model, the same as mine on ebay. That was a sharp looking boat too. I think it went for around $3000. |

Hello GIZ I have a 88 glasstream Hydrabass in a red metal flake w/ a 120 evenrude...nice boat I only wish I could find out more about the manufacturer so I could get the info to set it to or close to origional specs and color, and also if ya have any ideas how to repaint the hull where it is scratched down to the fiberglass and fix it would be great...lots of questions I know. thanks in advance

Re: Whats everyone got for a boat?
16 foot Carolina Skiff, with a 20 hp Mercury, a Motor Guide 12 volt, 54 lb thrust foot control electric motor. Two batteries for the TM, six gal gas tank for the Mercury. An Eagle depth finder mounted on the front deck where I can see it from either seat. Two swivel seats, mounted on the bench seats.
This boat is fiberglass, and the bench seats are just that. Benches with open area under them. To keep from wasting space, and to add some dry storage, I purchased some Sterlite snap top boxes from Wally World, (3 bucks each) that fit perfectly under the benches. Woo Hoooo Dry storage, and no wasted space. The trolling motor is mounted on the optional front deck. There was a space under the front deck that was big enough for some small, lightweight items like life jackets and rain suits. To keep them there, I made a door from a piece of plywood, hinged it, treated and painted it to keep it from warping, then mounted the plug for the TM in it. Six gague wire connects the plug to the batteries. I did all the rigging for the boat myself, even hanging the gas motor. Had a blast doing it. To see it go to.. http://hometown.aol.com/cajunbass/myhomepage/index.html |

Re: Whats everyone got for a boat?
13 1/2 ft aluminum V-hull, I'm told it could be a Sears, its probably 50 years old but runs great with a 25 horse Mariner on the back, and a finicky but sometimes powerful motorguide 30 lb trolling motor on the front.

LITTLEBIRD,
Generally in the high 60's, but I caught Truman lake almost like glass last spring and she ran 75 GPS, have not been able to get that again. (It starts to get a little scary at that speed) JackL |

Re: Whats everyone got for a boat?
I have a 88 model Cimmaron. She's a good boat. At 16.5' she's a good size for running back into creeks and slough's. I have a 50 HP Mercury on the back, and a 48lb Motorguide 5 speed trolling motor. Eagle fishfinder on the bow, and a Humminbird flasher on the dash.

Re: Whats everyone got for a boat?
LITTLEBIRD,
My 99 Ranger 518 had a Evinrude 200 on it, but with a three blade prop. I think it chine walked worse than the 2000 with the Mercury & 4 blade prop. JackL |

Re: Whats everyone got for a boat?
You and me both PNJ. Nothing wrong with a big boat, but I think I've had more fun with my little one this past year than I had the last few years with my bass boat. Of course a lot of that was no pressure from not tournament fishing anymore, but some of it was no gas bills either. Most days, we never even started the gas engine. Electric motor only lakes are great. No water skiers, no jet skis, no houseboats. Awwwwww
