Currently own a 2006 Monark 195 King. 150 merc opti of same year. Looking at a 19' Wagner Bay boat with a 90 hp Johnson. What do you guys think of the bay boats. I fish a Bass trail so the Monark makes it tough some times. Price is pretty close to right on the bay boat. I hear these things float on about 5 to 6 inches of water. Would be perfect. Plus it would be much lighter on fuel both running and Towing. What do you all know about them because I am about as dumb as they come on Bay boats.
thanks, bP |

LOL I just went back and re read my original posting on this subject. I had way to many boats at the time. I am now down to just 2 boats. A 1994 Tidecraft with a very warmed up 90hp Rude on her and of course my Laser........a labor of love project boat that has been going on now for about 3 years. I am currently getting vlose to finishing her. Still haven't quite made up my mind on the color she is gonna be. I am between a butterscotch looking color that Ford made a few years back and of course my favorite Black with red accents and tan carpet. Motor is unless I change my mind a very sweet running 2.5 V6 putting out 265@propshaft. You know me .........Gonna set the water on fire somehow.

I have a 1989 Tracker 1800 TF - 150 hp Evinrude XP
I just inherited this from my grandfather, who passed away just before Easter of this year. He purchased it new in 1989 when he retired after working 41 years for a plant. He and I fished quite a bit on it then (I was 16 years old), but after I moved away, he pretty much put it in storage under a bunch of tarps, and left it. Some elbow grease, two cans of wax, eviction of a few field mice, and a lot of memories, and I've almost got it back to where it needs to be. Dropped it off for a mechanic to check through the motor for any signs of dry rot, and to give it a tune up. List of things to do is:

Unfortunately, the motor has a little work to be done to it. The stater (guess I spelled that right) got a little fried, and am pretty sure it did some damage to the ICM. Waiting to hear back from the mechanic, but I'm sure the ICM is in trouble since 1 & 2 were not firing at all, but 3,4,5, & 6 were firing just fine. Compression is good on all the cylinders, so there is some light at the end of the tunnel. I'm REALLY Jonesin to get it back this weekend. Just picked up five new Quantum PT Energy Combo's (two baitcasters, three spinners) and got all my tackle back in "boat order" instead of "bank order". |

I have 2 myself, a 91 Stratos 295 Pro with a Johnson 150 Fast Strike and a 07 Stratos 295XL with a Optimax 200 and it saw 80 on Lake Anna just as it started to tail walk a little but it was enough to slow my butt down. the 91 is for sale also.
