it generally means alot of walking, sometimes through the woods. And it means luggin your tackle through the woods, and then back again. My question is what kind of tackle box do you use to hold all of your stuff?

currently i am using a Plano Model 737 3 drawer system. I was wondering if anyone else uses this big of a tacklebox when shore fishing or if it is a complete overkill.

Last year I used a vest that had a lot of pockets. It was ok but I seem to always need something else to throw. I recieved a nice waist belt that has 3 big pockets. Plus I bought a worm binder. I think I now have enough room to store a good assortment of baits and other supplies. Remember you want to keep mobile so lugging a big box around hinders you. I always try to load up on what I will be using for that day. Then I add a few other baits. I spray on my ivy block and sun screen when I first get there so I don't have to take any additional items along. I usually take a bottle of water but that goes in the back pocket of my jeans. It's easier to take the vest off and put it back on when moving instead of picking up a lugging a big box. Pliers can go in a pants pocket and I attach a pair of clippers on the vest on one of those reels that let out line as you need it. One thing that I don't carry is rain gear. I was thinking of getting one of those throw away ponchos. They come packed in a small pack. They cost about a dollar around here. So if you need it just pull it out and you could throw it away when done.

i use a backpack. i take everything i need and put it into several plano 3600. and then put it all in the backpack. its alot easier than anything ive used before. and anything extra i need i just throw in one of the side pockets. if you have the money you can get one of those backpacks with the watersystem in it. so you dont have to bring a drink, you just fill up the puch with whatever you want and off you go.

i have one similar to the 'Browning Tacklebag' on sale @ BassPro shops at the moment.
works beautifully, use it in & out of boat. comfortable enough to fish with it on your back. heaps of storage for tackle, food ,phone etc.

That is when I really figure out what I will and will not use. Â*Lately I have been using just a small one tray tackle box. Â*A couple bags of soft plastics, a couple of topwaters, couple of cranks, a jig or two, couple of spinnerbaits to round it out. Â*Come to think of it, that is about what I use when I'm in the boat, and that is stuffed full of just about anything you can think of. Â*Overkill big time, but that is half the fun!

Occasionally I do some shore fishing even when I have the boat-spending the weekend at the lake, etc. Then I take my soft jerkbait rod and stick a bag of Tiki Sticks in my pocket and that is it.

Why do you think I just went through a couple years worth of stuff, and gave away a lot. Believe me I got a lot more though ;D

I hear you, Lizards. I got rid of a bunch of stuff a couple of years ago-mostly soft plastics, and now I'm right back where I started. I'm beginning to wonder of I'm a bass fisherman who collects tackle or a tackle collector who fishes for bass ;D

I use a shoulder bag in which I usually carry two utility boxes and have a variety of accessories in the outer pockets. Sometime, depending on where I'm fishing, time of year, etc., I'll carry a second, smaller, shoulder bag with two more small utility boxes.

With the shoulder bags, I can be lipping a bass with my left hand and get what I need out of my main bag with one hand: pliers, tape measure, and scale, if needed.
