Sorry guys I'm sure this has been covered a lot of times. What line do you use for throwing buzz and spinnerbaits? Currently I'm using 12 lb. Trilene XL but trying to decide if I should go with Fireline instead.

I have actually been using the Fireline on the spinnerbaits, because it helps get down quicker(not much mind you, but some) I prefer the 12lb Trilene with the buzzbait, because it floats better, helping keep it up(not much but again it helps). I fish the spinners sometimes around a lot of cover, so I want the stronger stuff on it. Topwater stuff usually I can get them out of the cover before they bury themselves.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've got Trilene XL, XT, and Fireline spooled up on reels ready to go. I'm still adding equipment so right now I have to switch rods and reels around depending on what type of fishing I'm doing. As it is so often on this board, to each their own. ;D ;D ;D

Strap, Come and see me, I've got too many rods and reels now as it is. I can get you a couple of decent setups, to help you along. I really won't miss them, since I have about 15-20 now. I really usually only use 8-10 of them at all anyway. Yes they will be free, consider it a donation, to bring that little girl up fishing ;D Lizards |
