can i add a slip wgt. to my jig to "feel"

i am new to jig fishing....loving the challenge/practice
and yes i am catching some also
i have a zepco omega reel and i am finding i can't quite "feel" the taught line when using a 1/2oz jig
anything wrong with adding a slip sinker....as you would when worm fishing? thanks mike

i know the line will have slack. what i like to do on non windy days is to tighten my line till i feel the jig, then let it rest on the bottom...also, the main thing to do is watch where your line goes into the water. if you see any kind of movement, even alittle tick, set the hook. the sinker shouldnt be needed. just watch your line.

Juicy, if you cant feel the bottom you are not using a big enough jig. You should feel everything down there. are you adding a trailer? let the jig sink longer before your retrieve starts and work it slower. Good luck. Scott R

What he said, get a bigger Jig. Now if you are using something like a crappie jig, well then that's a whole different conversation we need to have
