mercury in the water
i fish at a local pond in baytown texas. the pond is close to a few refineries and a few people have told me not to eat the fish because there may be mercury in the water, but i've also been told that bass are so sensetive that if there was anything in the water they wouldn't live. i've always caught atleast 8 bass in the morning from 6-11 ranging from 1/2 pound to one over 9 lbs. all look very healthy. there is also blue gill bigger than any i've ever seen. what do you think about eating them.

just turn the fish heads down in the freezer and the mercury will go to the lowest point! (lol that's a load, just so you know)

i reely dont know if u should there may be a sewer runnin there good spot to fish it sounds tho

Ask the local DNR, if they OK them to eat, then go for it. They would know if there was a Mercury Problem.

they are always testing the ohio river for lead contamination, they dont recommend anyone eat the fish out of it, but yet all the old timers that live on the river have been eating cats for decades

they may have mercury warnings in the regulations digest ya get with your liscence. they have it here. i belive it is 1 meal every 30 days .which is total bull. as long as you don't eat fish every week. every couple of weeks won't kill ya. unless told by your doctor not too.. zooker
