fl is saying instead of "senkovsberkleysinkingminnow", "senko vs. berkley sinking minnow" is better.

Re: senkovsberkleysinkingminnow
I'd have to say go with a senko, gulp dries out real fast and isn't really worth the money.

Yeah if you fish with one for about an hour they start too get stiff and also you cant keep them in the bag very long either.

Re: senkovsberkleysinkingminnow
The difficulty with a Senko, and I presume also the Sinking Minnow is that they both are loaded with salt to the extent that they both fall too fast. I've found it a better presentation to use a slow falling soft plastic fished weightless such as the Zoom Speed Worm body with the tail removed...rigged texposed weightless. Last spring while fishing for smallies in a reservoir, my wife and I were fishing a rocky bank....she was using the watermelon/red 4 inch Senko and I was using the speedworm body in watermelon/red cut off at 4 inches....at the end of the hour, I had caught 6 to her zero. As I am not an expert fisherman , I can only attribute it to the slow falling action of the zoom speed worm body.

Mac, have you tried any of the Zoom stickbaits, I think their called z-nailz? I'm curious about their sink rate vs senko & speed worm....

Re: senkovsberkleysinkingminnow
Tony, no....I have not tried them....If it's weighted, as a rule, I don't mess with them. Â*I've done so much better personally without the internal weight that I don't try any of them. Â*I make the zoomies (speedworm bodies) by cutting off the tail and they run from 15 to 20 cents each and work so well....
The Z nail does have an interesting profile, at least from a design aspect, and I certainly use some of the other zoom products (also mostly weightless), but haven't wanted to try the z worm in particular. I've never tried a Senko or Senko clone either...which, I suppose, infers that I'm hung up on slo-fall zoomies, as well as the color watermelon/red. |
