It's no Bass Pro Shops, but evidently the sporting goods manager at my wal-mart is a fisherman because the selection's not that bad.

Well I am glad to see that some of you, at least, have a decent selection at WalMart. For me, it's a good place to buy diapers. Not a whole lot more. Between my independant guy (T&C Tackle) and our local Academy store, plus Cabela's and BPS on the way, WalMart is just a place to go if I want to wait in line. That doesn't happen often, by the way.

I'll tell you what I buy at WalMart. It's all anyone needs to catch bass.
1. Zoom worms - usually 6-7 inch ribbon tails for me 2. Slug-gos - 3 or 4 inch 3. Strike King bleeding eye spinnerbaits 4. Renegade crankbaits 5. Dardevle spoons These are certainly my favorite brands for catching bass. They are durable, and they work. Also the WalMart has a big selection for fly fishing, which is extremely popular up here. You can fly fish for bass, but its more popular for trout and pickerel. |
