World Record 22-7 ?
Anyone heard about a possible World Record caught at Clear Lake, Ca. today? Bassfan just posted an article saying they were trying to find out if it was fact or fiction. My sources say, they were waiting on the scales to be certified. They say it weighed 22-7..Anyone no for sure?

Here is a link to an article in the Lake County record-bee, where Clear lake is located.
http://www.record-bee.com/Stories/0,...752684,00.html That would be crazy if it is true! |

California, home of Barry Bonds and bass too disgustingly fat for nature.

Re: World Record 22-7 ?
apparently an angler pre fishing saw two people using live bait and catch a hog, but no officials have been notified of any such fish being weighed to date. and all the cerified scales in the area have been contacted as well as the dfg and nothing has turned up. Scott R

Re: World Record 22-7 ?
If there are reports from "other anglers" but no fish has come forward, I would expect that it is a hoax. My understanding is that as the fish sits in a livewell, or out of the water it tends to lose weight. If this person that caught the fish had the slightest inkling of what they had in their posession, I would think that they would hurry to get it officially weighed. If it is a matter of a few pictures/witnesses but was caught and released, it shouldn't be ruled any differently than leah Trues fish last year. I had just been thinking about the "bass on roids" idea recently with all the press the ballplayers have been getting. Probably no better for the health of the fish than it is for people. Sure would love to tangle with the "bass on the juice" though. ;D
