Basscather the photos are really hard to see and when u enlarge them they are even harder to see all in all nice looking boat i guess i got lucky and the snow stopped here ;D

Now that is something I've never seen. Â*How many batteries does it take to run that puppy? Â*

Down at Diascund Reservoir there is a fellow who has a 17 foot Nitro, (glass boat) with no outboard. Â*He's pulled the gas tank, filled that space with batteries and has two, 100 lb plus Minn Kota's on the stern, and a 54 lb Motor Guide foot control on the bow.

When he kicks all three of those motors in that thing looks like it wants to get up on plane.

Too bad the original Mercury Cowl won't still fit.

I only run mine on 36 volts. Â*3, 12 volt batteries, Â*some guys run 6 volt batteries( they say they last alittle longer)

I can go about twice as fast as that boat with 3 trolling motors. Â*
Before i got this motor i ran my 40# bow mount and 2 5o# transom motors. Â*they pushed it ok but this one motor moves atleast twice to three times as fast. Â*
right now i have it set up with just a simple on and off switch. Â*man, when you flip that switch it reall takes off. Â*I have a varible speed setup for it but i haven't figured out the wireing diagram yet. Â*

This motor is that strong that i can run my boat right up on the trailer with it. Â*I like that there is no gas bill too 8)

Very cool 8) 8), thanks for the post. It's amazing all the different options available out there. Is yours made locally? When you said custom, I assumed that was the case, and what HP does yours put out?

my motor is rated at 8hp. it was made by a man in maryland. I also did some mods to it to make it fit my boat better.

Did you see how much those rays outboards cost. WOW they are expensive. I traded a gas outboard for mine. one of my best trades yet. although i hated to get rid of that 9.5 johnson but this motor gets used several times a week compared to only a few times a year. In my region in PA mostly all the lakes are electric motor only. its nice though, NO jet skiers or speedboats, just the hippie kayakers ;D

Amen to that. I LOVE electric only lakes. That's why we've got the two trolling motors on our boat.
