Do you have the right gear for saltwater cause its a different set of terminal tackle! and are you fishing artifical or live? From shore or boat? etc. etc.

You need to find the tide listings for that area, when the tide is comming in and when Its going out, and fish those times only,,,either one.
Ocean fishing means you can fish off the bottom with shrimp, using shrimp on a hook with lets say a 1 ounce sinker, or many hooks using live bait, or any variety of tube/squid baits, or big crankbaits.
Tidal action is key, I'd go only during the movements of the tide..any paper or probably on the internet for that area will have it listed

LONESTAR,

The main thing you should keep in the front of your mind at all times. They are not bass, DON'T LIP THEM!

Make sure to rinse out your tackle after you fish. I almost ruined a spinning reel last year after dunking it in brackish water and just sorta lazily spraying a little freshwater on it. You need to really flush all your reels good.
