Everytime i reel in my baitcaster, i let the handle go and it starts to reel out. The lure pulls the lineand it just keeps goin. Its not fast it just starts to let line out. What can i do to stop this? Do i have to bring it back to the store? Thanks

Sounds like the gears arent catching, I've never seen that on my old baitcaster. Is the drag working?

Maybe your drag is set too loose.

clay, there is a little knob. Tighten, it is your spool tension, to loose, and the line will slip.!!!

No, PB, I think what is happening is the anti-reverse is not engaging. had it happen on a couple of old baitcasters I have. I'd take it back, NJ. That ain't supposed to be happening.

I'll try that but the handle spins with the line.

NJ, if the handle it turning as the line is going out that is not supposd to be happening. Like I said, I'd take it back.

NJ, Take it back. The roller bearing isn't working. For those of you that lube their own reels ,do not oil or grease the roller bearing or the posibility of the same can happen. Sometimes they put too much lube in from the factory and it gets in the anti reverse roller bearing.P N J
