Tiki or Senko

I dont know if this was already covered...but I've been using Senkos, but everyone talks about tiki sticks. Is it really that much better than the Senko? I get about 2 fish an hour on the senko...should I switch or be faithful?

i have never used either but tommorow im getting tiki
i have never heard of them but they sound good,one thing i heard from senko is that they tear easily

We did have this discussion anwhile back-good subject though. I prefer Tiki Sticks for 3 reasons: They are more durable, they are less expensive, and most importantly, they catch fish! Bottom line, though, is confidence in a bait and personal preference. I'd give them a try. My two favorite colors are watermelon/chartreuse swirl and baby bass/pearl swirl. Caught a bunch on both colors.

hey, for anyone that knows, is the kinami baits chartreuse shad any resemblence to waves baby bass/pearl swirl? I wanted to get some different "flavored" tiki's but all wal-mart had tonight at the time was watermelon/char which I have, black/blue which I have, and christmas tree, which seems like an odd color to me. Anyone used the Kinami at all?

Yeah, I have some. They are the same to me as GY Senkos. Someone posted that Kinami is the business offshoot for a son or grandson of Gary Y. The product is the same as far as I can tell. It works!

It is the same, but for 5 bucks you get 7 worm, for 7 bucks you get 10 worms, for 2.92 you get 10 tiki stiks!!!!!!

no no i was asking about the color pattern, which I later found out was not when I went to wave's website

Its 3.92 for a pack of 6 kinami sticks here where I am. 2.92 for a 10 pack of Tiki's. I'd much rather buy Tiki's if they could ever get some different colors.

There is no best color. There is no best in fishing period. A color I had that works really good for me is Watermelon/Chartreuse Swirl. Another Is Baby Bass Pear swirl

I Just WENT Fishin With SOME TIKIS Just To Try Them Out
Thier Great I Live In A Nieghborhood With 4 Lakes
And We Are Waterfront. I Fished With These For Only 30 Minutes
And Caught Two!!!!!!!! The First One I Caught I Wacky Wormed It And He Was Only Two Pounds, Then Texas Rigged It With No Sinker A Caught A Five!!!!!

I prefer the Tiki Sticks over the Senko's for the same reasons. More durable and cheaper. Work just as well. I did well in a tournament with watermelon/Chart. (not swirl) last weekend. They worked great in stained water. In clearer water I'll use watermelon mostly. I've used the Kinami's too and they're no different from the Senko. Go with the Wave!

ive never tried a senko before, and i probbaly never am evrybody says they rip to
easy and thier 75 cents for one worm!! i mean if u get a bite on these things your going to have to put onother worm,i also like strike 3x worms, the only drawback is that they dont have as good of action as tiki sticks,also you dont even have to go to a sports store to get them. you can tikis at wal mart, thats good for me because the closest sporting goods store with fishing merchandise is 20 minutes away wal mart is only five, and its on the way to the lake.

eventually ill try senkos but that wont be anytime soon

Im gonna agree with everyone here TIKI STICKS ARE THE WAY TO GO. And this is coming from someone who fished senkos, senkos and more senkos for quite a while. Finally realized they were a little pricey for their lack of durability, went out and grabbed some TIKIS never bought a senko sense. As far as im concerned theres no difference how many fish you catch, but you can actually pull in 3-4 on a TIKI stick as opposed to 1 MAYBE 2 on a senko. Tiki sticks man gotta love 'em

To me it all depends on how i plan to use the bait. For a soft jerkbait the tiki's are fine, but using them as a weightless flipping bait they just dont sink fast enough for me, so in that application i would say stick with the senkos.

my new saying is your stupid if u use senkos
if tikis dont sink fast enough just wait, fishing is about patience
right, so be patient i went fish this morning with baby bass/pearlswirl
and they tore it up,well not literlally like they would with senkos
i caught a 5 pounder this morning so.............what ever your on you need to get off that stuff

Patience doesnt mean using the wrong tool for the job. You can probably get a nail in a board with a screwdriver if you work at it long enough, but i wouldnt recommend it.

When I'm fishing for money and I can get a senko down to the right depth in less time that means more casts per hour which can make a huge difference when ounces count. I fish one tourney every week thats only a 4 hour jackpot, and I really don't have time to wait on a tiki to sink, nor do I like to use the nail trick which hinders the action of the lure. Another reason i want the faster fall is to get the reaction bite from the fish, rather than giving them lots of time to look at it and reject it when they are in negative mood.

I dont prefer a certain one because ive had great luck with senkos,tikis,and kinamis they are all basically the same to me when it comes to catching fish with them.
