Re: line
Southern, I used to use stren original 20 lb test for jigs.I now use 30lb Tuf line braid, but I would not have a problem going back to the stren mono.It worked really well for me over the years. P N J

I've used Stren Original on some of my reels for many years and have never had a problem with it.

Re: line
I love Berkley Sensation for my soft plastics. I use Berkley XL for crankbaits. I've tried 15 lb. P-Line before but to be honest with you I didn't like it. It just felt stiff so to speak.

Re: line
Been using green Trilene XL for years. I have tried many other lines and keep going back to the Trilene.

Re: line
I used P-Line all last year and was impressed with it's strength. It is a little expensive but it is tough as nails. If you are going to try it make sure you use it on a bait that does not twist around a lot (Senkos, Floating Worms, etc) because it will loop up and cause some nasty backlashes. When putting the line on your reel it is best to sink the spool in warm water for about 15 minutes before hand then put it in the reel from the water. Helps it loosen up a little, it is a little stiff otherwise. If you find that is is looping and twisting as you are fishing cut off the bait and let the tail end drag behind teh boat about 65 feet and it will untangle itself. Also a swivel never hurts. Get the bulk spools it is worth the small savings. Hope this helps!

Its only the best mono on the market with a really great price. I've tried other monos, including XL and XT, and this by far outdoes all of them. I haven't yet tried Ande though. |

Re: line
I mostly use Trilene XT, Iron Silk, 8lb Fireline on spinning gear, Cajun Red (man this stuff is just awesome). Can you tell I like berkley line? I also just bought a spool of 8lb sufix to try out, has anyone else used this line yet?

Re: line
Ky basser, I am using 14 lb sufix siege. Its good line but you have to retie after every fish. The line feels like it has nicks in it. I am not sure whether its caused by the tungstun wieght on the hookset or the snaggy cover where I am catching the fish from. There are pieces of tree root tangled in the line sometimes when I land the fish.I have never broken off on a fish and it casts very well with very little memory.I landed a 6 1/2 lb bass with the nicks in the line so it doesn't seem to effect the strength much, I just trim it back and retie to make sure .
