Going to be warm all week, should I go?
It's been very warm lately, and the good warm weather is supposed to hold up for the remainder of this week. It's going to get up to 74 degrees. Is this January or March?! ;D
Well, should I take a trip to the creek, or sit this one out? I'm not sure, because the water will probably stay at the same temperature as in the past. Or, will the warm weather trigger some winter bass to feed? Cant seem to decide whether to go down there or stay home, so needed some advice. thanks, seaphantom |

NO DON'T GO, just stay at home and DREAM about fishing. :P
Of course you should go, so what if you don't catch anything, at least you should learn something from the experience, such at what isn't working. You never have to ask me if I should go, if I can I will period. Lizards |

From earlier experience, I've had terrible luck down there in the winter time, and all I got was mud and a bunch of fed mosquitoes... seaphantom |

Wear bug spray wash the mud off with a little water and: GO!!!!!!!!!!
You'll at least get out of the house. Â*It's better than sitting in your chair at the house being bored all day. |

Re: Going to be warm all week, should I go?
I will have to agree with everyone else here and say go. I am experiencing the same weather here. Its 70 plus degrees here right now and has been for the past week or so. Very unseasonable weather for even this part of the country. One thing I can tell you is that bass don't know what month it is. One thing they know is water temp, and if it gets warm enough then they will feed very activley. Especially on smaller waters where the water heats up quicker. Hey, give it a try, can't hurt anything.

Thanks to the replies, I think I'll go and snatch me some bass, before it gets cold again.

actually this warm spell will warm the water back up. that way ya can get an extra week of warm water when the temps take a dive.

Go!! Unless you're in Indiana (which I know you're not) We've had 6" of rain in the last 6 days Rivers and creeks are at flood stages already and rising. Looks like my honey holes will be lost once again. Oh well, the search for the deep water is half the fun

Probably should, with all the rain we've gotten, now this morning there's 2" of fresh snow on the ground. Quote:
I'll let you know after this weekend, I going down there, and giving it a shot, even if I have to fish from the truck ;D Lizards |

Re: Going to be warm all week, should I go?
Went today....
started out with a plastic weightless lizard, and found that the current was a bit too strong to let it sink in the close range of my cast. then, I tried a spinnerbait, fished that out in the big open area of the creek, where the fast current meets the slow water... finally, took out a weighted plastic worm bright blue colored, and fished close to cover, switched to a black yellow tailed plastic worm, and fished the shallow still water. still, no success... it was sunny, and water was clearer than usual (warm too) didnt catch anything, not one bite seaphantom |
