Questions on the texas rig
well i guess ill be able to use all those rubber worms i had that i always thought were completly useless. but then again never knew the correct way of using them until i read about this texas rig set-up., although some info im seeing across the net mention using a bead between your slide sinker and hook & other's dont mention the bead at all,, and if i decide to use the bead, how far up from the hook should that be placed?
thanks |

Re: Questions on the texas rig
usually the bead is for that extra bit of noise. if you decide to put the bead on, you just put the bead between the hook and sinker, it should slide freely. i think that was your ? hope this helps.

Re: Questions on the texas rig
bigjim, I think you may be confusing a Texas rig with a Carolina rig. Â*Here are a couple of links that will allow you to see the difference:
http://www.bassfishingusa.com/Rigging/rigging2.html http://www.bassfishingusa.com/rigging/rigging1.html A Texas rig is for more vertical presentation where a Carolina rig or C-rig is more horizontal. Texas rigs work well around cover like trees and weedbeds where C-rigs work in areas where there is less cover. |

Re: Questions on the texas rig
On a texas-rig the bead should be placed between the hook and weight as 02 said. It would be kind of hard to place it any farther up. Don't know why you would want to anyway. Maybe your thinking of a carolina rig. On a
c-rig there shoud be a weight then a bead then a 12-18" leader. |
