my pond

I have a quick question, my friend and i go to this little pond down the street and i dont know how deep it is, i was wondering if you have any suggestions on how i may be able to find out the depth of it so i could make better choices in my lures.

any advice would be very appreciated.

uh a way i saw once was to get a big ole slip sinker, put that on your line and on the end put a bobber you can see where you want a depth recording. toss it out, make sure it hits bottom then pull line out of your reel one foot by one foot and count it as you pull until you can see the bobber surface

Just use a slip bobber and set the depth deeper and deeper until the bobber does not pop up indicating that your on the bottom then look and see how deep it went

Of course, I've seen some "castable" fish finders. Or was it on a little RC boat? Anyways, whatever the case may be, they're only 60 bucks. They go out, and act like any regular sonar, but they transmit the image back to a wrist watch style display. That way, you can find the bottom contour as well as the depts at it's deepest.
