Re: Rock Line
You might try a spinnerbait of a soft jerkbait like a Super Fluke or a Tiki Stick.

Re: Rock Line
I like crawfish type baits around rocks, just seems like I always found crawfish under rocks. I would try a Plastic craw(I prefer YUM here). Either t-rig it with the bullet weight pegged, or a weighted jig head. Use the least amount of weight possible, since your trying to avoid it getting stuck, and the lighter the better in that area. Work it over the rocks, as slowly as you can. If it becomes, a big problem, then rig it like a drop shot, with a split shot, pinched onto the end, so it can pull off easily if necessary.

Re: Rock Line
The Storm curltail minnows have great action. They sink pretty fast because they have weight insterted in them. You could try a retrieve slow enough to just keep them off of the rocks or could jig them up and over the rocks. Good choice Zook.
Tyrant, any chance of you removing that cartoon from your signature line? We have lots of kids on this site and we try to keep the site as clean as possbile and personally I think it shows bad taste. Much appreciated. |

Re: Rock Line
I know that you said you tried crankbaits, have you tried different sizes and color of crankbaits?

I agree with Bass boss on the dropshot, that would be my choice.
Someone help me out, what is distasteful about the cartoon, sorry I don't watch them.?. |

Re: Rock Line
Not the one that is there now. It was a big banner at the bottom of each post showing a scantily clad lady.

Re: Rock Line
Tyrant, Rocks are where you find crawfish.Just as Lizards pointed out. I would go with a jig but a football head and spider grub jig, or a tube bait.Be patient when fishing. P N J

Re: Rock Line
I'd go with fishing some 4" craw creature tubes in the rocks. For some reason, small creature baits typically come through for me around structure when I'm having a hard time getting anything.

Re: Rock Line
try parallel casting a spinner bait a few times run it in front of the hole rockline may be differnt look for them. if that didn't work. I agree with everybody else. football spider jig or creature bait of some sort on carolina rig. may just need simple grub to pull them out
for some reason after i have exausted all other ideas i like to through a these rocklines parallel with them to give it a differant look before I move on> |
