a recurring theme
Went fishing today again and started throwing senkos. I throw a junebug senkos and get one dink that rips my last one up... switch over to red shad. Bam, set the hook, feels like a 2-3#, comes off. Couple minutes later, another one, good solid hookset... comes throws the hook. Then a bit later, got another one, jumps right out of the water, a solid 3# throws the hook. Man, I can't seem to catch anything on senkos any color other than junebug, happens all the time, even with good hooksets and 5/0 hooks. :P

Re: a recurring theme
good to see the computer is back working. anyways, that would have aggravated me to death. the other day i was fishin and was using a jig and i guess the hook wasnt sharp, but on every cast out it would take it, i set the normal hook set, he/she fought for a few seconds, then threw it :P this happened 4 times till on the 5th try as soon as felt the fish, i set the hook like never before and got it, it was 2-3lbs. but that was aggravating ;D anyways, this might sound crazy, but try down sizing your hook and see what happens, might be just what you need

Re: a recurring theme
Are you using an extrawide gap hook?

What brand hook were you using? I use Gamakatsu. Take the hook point and run it across your thumbnail to make sure it's sharp. Other than that I don't know what to tell you.
