i finally did it
i learnt how to cast a wieghtless worm on my baitcaster, i went outside today in the back yard and took a Tiki Bamboo Stik and was casting a good 30-40 ft, and since i fish mostly ponds i was happy with the results, Although that fenwick is just a couple weeks away ;D

Re: i finally did it
A bamboo stick is a good bait to learn on-heavy enough to throw.
Crappie_Man, you shouldn't have any problem throwing it on an spinning reel-they are designed to throw smaller baits. |

Re: i finally did it
Lizards, last 4th of July I was wade fishing and caught a 4, 2-3's, and a 2 on a watermelon/chartreuse Tiki Stick using a spinning reel (Shhhhhhhhh! Don't tell anybody ;D)
Seriously, I use one for several applications-drop shotting being the main one, but one bait I cannot throw on a baitcaster is a balsa Shad Rap-can't get any distance-usually the result ofa backlash ;D. No troubles using it with a spinning rod. |

Re: i finally did it
i guess it takes practice, now and then i have my bad casts(usually when around people, dont know why. thats one reason i like to fish alone alot) but i really never needed to practice. i would just start usin it and it would work out fine.
