Re: covering up oders
Just my thoughts, i might be completely wrong.....
As much odor stuff as we put on lures to attract fish, i don't think some coconut smelling sunscreen (or whatever flavor there is) would deter the fish from getting the lure. I have caught fish while wearing perfume while my husband hadn't had a bite not wearing any. (There are x's when he catches fish also that i don't Sandra |

Re: covering up oders
I've been a fishing for 40 + years, The fish I have caught have smelled everything from Miller Lite to Lucky Strike. I have not found that any of that stuff makes any difference. Who knows maybe they like it. Thanks Lakegude

Re: covering up oders
when I put on sunscreen I will put my had in a plastic bag & put the sunsceen on the bag. after I apply it I just turn the bag inside out, zip it up and put it away - no mess and no smells on your hands. hope this helps

Re: covering up oders
I usually try and load myself up before I head out, then wash my hands with soap. If you're going to be out a really long time and need to reapply, just cover it up with some garlic.

Don't worry about it. Go fishing. You know people used to catch fish years ago before we got so darn smart we let an animal with a brain the size of a pea beat us.

Re: covering up oders
I always put some fish attractant on my hands. That way when I have to handle my bait it doesn't effect the scent.

Re: covering up oders
Im with bassman, I spray my hands with it. That way everytime I handle the lure it's getting more attractant on it. Word of caution: carry a towel or something with you during hot times. It sucks to have garlic spray on your hands then rub the sweat out of your eyes. Also it makes the PB-n-J's taste a little funny. 8)
