This is how to set it up from the end of the rod to the bait. You have a weight with a red bead beneath it and then a swivel with a leader that you will have to experiment with the length of the leader and then your lure, I like a lizard or creature bait in stained to muddy water and a french fry type bait in clear water.

One thing to consider when carolina rigging is the hookset. I use a long sweeping hookset due to the amount of line that is out
