It would probably be easier to just buy it. But, if you want to make your own I read this in Bassmaster:
Get a jar of vaseling, a jar of liquid garlic (not sure what it is called-might be garlic juice) and some rock salt if you want. Melt half the vaseline, pour in the liqiid garlic then pour it in a jar and let it gel. If you want to use salt mix it in when the scent is still liquid. Then just dip your bait in it and go fishing. |

Re: Help!! Can i do this?
Just keep in mind that any scent can leave stains on anything it drips on, so if your in the boat or a guest in someones boat I'd apply it over the water and carry a rag with ya, cus it will eat some of the clear coat off boats, plus make carpet go black over time if you drip alot of it.
It does work tho, no reason not to use it, I think the more "refined" angler chooses baits with the scent already in it, and theres no reason to apply to spinnerbaits or crankbaits, it doesn't hurt, but think about how many casts you'll make and do you really want to have to think about giving your bait a "facial" of goo instead of figuring out the bite? trust me the bite is better lmfao : |
