Is a hot foot better than a hand controlled throtlle?

Yes it is safer . You can drive with both hands on the wheel. If you have a pad hull type hign speed rig with a 150 or more it is a must for high speed operation. What type boat and motor are you running? Fish2win

That means you are running a modified V to a flat bottom. the hull design and horsepower you are running will have a maximum speed or about 45 MPH. If you have power tilt and trim you may get some benefit from the hot foot other wise save the money. You have a good fishing boat that is relativly safe as rigged.The hot foot was designed for use with bigger pad hull boats that run with very little boat in the water. When these boats are on pad the engine produces a good amount of torque which takes two hands to control and to balance the boat on the pad.
If you want to add a safety device and dont have one already , add a kill switch. Fish2win

It is safer but I like it alot better than the hand throttle too.
