How much money you got that you want to spend?

You will NEED a minimun of at least one (1) depth finder, and the biggest 12 volt T/M you can get. Â*Make sure the shaft length is long enough for your boat. Â*You'll also need a battery for the T/M, a battery box with tie downs, wire ( 6ga) to connect the battery to the T/M lines to tie Â*the boat to a dock, a spare tire for the trailer if you don't have one, bearing buddies for the trailer wheels, a fire extinquisher, PFD's, a paddle is a handy thing to have. Â*You can't actually paddle the type boat you're talkiing about very far, but there are a half a hundred uses for a paddle.

I've got a GPS. Â*I've never figured out any use for it, but it's fun to play with. Â*I'm sure someone else will tell you can't go to the john without one. Â*

Now there is a LOT of stuff you can buy in you want to. Â*Call BPS and ask for their marine catalog. Â*They'll fix you up.

A trolling motor is a must-allows you to move around without having to fire up the big engine. A depthfinder is also a must-allows you to find structure like drop-offs and creek channels.

Where are you located? Your handle leads me to believe you are a fellow Texan. Reason I ask is I have a 12-volt trolling motor collecting dust that I took off my boat when I got a more powerful one. It still works fine, just not enough power for my boat. If you are interested in it let me know.

You can get a depthfinder/GPS combo, but I just use a handheld GPS unit that does a great job getting me to the spots I marked. Comes in handy getting back to the ramp on a strange lake or at night, too.

A GPS is handy when fishing on a new lake, helps you find your way around and yes, you can mark hot spots as well. On some, you must get a disk to place in your computor to receive lakes in detail.
However, thats not the most important item that you'll want to get. Make sure that you have a good live well, a reliable motor, and as was mentioned a good trolling motor. You must have a fire extinguisher and proper flotation devises.
Don't be overly concerned about comfort or any other du-dads that might make for a more pleasurable day, just stick first with necessities.

Oh Yea. You'll need a battery charger for the t/m battery.
