Default Anybody on here fish Guntersville?

Going down the 1st week of April for 5 days of fishing on Guntersville. Anybody got some info that they want to pass along?

I've already got a map and marked about 7 good looking spots. Any tips would be appreciated!

I'm not sure I am the right one to be giving advice on guntersville as I have never done much good at all there and I tend to avoid it, but a few things that you might consider is that the lake fishes 100% different from Wilson or Pickwick IMO. You can look at a map of G'ville and see a million textbook humps and underwater contours that look garanteed to be loaded with fish, but the dominant presence of milfoil on the lake tends to make all depth a secondary issue in how fish position themselves, especially now that we are getting into spring. Wood structure, current, depth all I'm sure are important, but the key is the milfoil because there is so much of it and it is so superior as a form of cover. The quantity of milfoil means that you have an incredible amount of water to cover and eliminate, and I think this is why I (as well as other visitors) have a lot of trouble. Also I think the lake should be considered a quality lake, not a numbers lake.

Of course Larry can give you a lot more positive information and hints than I can. You may also try the north alabama fishing forum for some advice.

Here's a link to terraserver where they have satelite photo's and topo maps. You can obviously play around with it some, and get what views you want. Hopefully it will at least give you a place to start.
