convincing the lady
I need a new excuse for going to feed the bait monkey. I live in west Pa and the closest BPS is in Harrisburg. I want to go this saturday but all I get is angrey stares and haven't you spent enough already? But then she tells me she is going to a home decorator party sunday. That doesn't seem fair. I need a really good excuse, so any of you guys use a failproof excuse-how about sharring it with me.

Re: convincing the lady
Why don't ya'll both agree on a reasonable amount to each be allowed to spend without getting upset over it? I found out a long long time ago that most of the arguements about small things were actually coming from something completely different. Sit down and have a chat over what is acceptable and what isn't. I know when i first got married 18 years ago there were alot of things that we both just didn't do or enjoy because of not knowing our limits, since then we have had many discussions and both have more freedom because of it. We both pretty much do as we please.

Re: convincing the lady
One advantage of having a wife that likes to fish. She's always ready to go tackle shopping.

Re: convincing the lady
Ask to her to please call her Mother(Your mother in-law or soon to be), and ask her if she would prefer you go bar hopping, and chasing drunken, fat chicks? OR would she prefer you to FISH AND BUY TACKLE. Because you will spend it at the bar or buying drinks, or attorney fees(DUI),DR Bills(hurts when I pee), if not on fishing stuff I can guess what the answer from mom will be

Re: convincing the lady
BOB,
Â* Â* Go ahead and go to BPS and have a good time. When you get home you will have the angry stares and the peace and quiet to put up with instead of the normal every day whining, pissin and moanin. As long as they are glaring, thier teeth are gritted and thier lips ain't flappin about something or other. JackL |

Re: convincing the lady
I just open the closet and compare the amount of clothes and shoes to my amount of fishing stuff. Ill wait for her to start counting then go to BPS, usually I make it home before she's done. 8)

Re: convincing the lady
Simple solution for you
Tell her... I like to fish... I want to go to BPS and spend a lot of money and if you dont love me enough to understand that then leave... if she leaves she never truely loved you and your better off without her... |

Re: convincing the lady
My wife actually got me into bass fishing. She told me about a friend of her's husband wanted to start a club. I didn't know squat about it and she convinced me to go and the rest is history. The club has been around for 24 years. I help start it but haven't been a member for the entire time, but I'm back in and it's great. So I don't have to convince the wife I need tackle, she usually goes to the shop with me anyway.

Re: convincing the lady
My wife's my best fishing partner BG. Â*She can cast with a casting reel, tie a palamore knot, knows a Carolina Rig from a Texas rig and can tie both of them. Â*She can fish a plastic worm, back a trailer, drive the boat and will pack a lunch of cold fried chicken, 'tater salad and nanner pudding.
And she has the longest legs. Â* I'll keep her. Â*If she'll keep me. Â* |

Re: convincing the lady
Well, I didn't make it to BPS but went down to Cabelas in West Virginia. Got some 6in. senkos and some YUM wooly beavertails. I also found some Lucky Craft Pointers in the clearence section for $7.49. I bought a ghost minnow color, 1oz. I used bass fishing girls advice and we both agreed to spend 20 to 25 dollars. Now i found a 20% off coupon for Dick's Sporting goods and darn if I don't need a new spinning rod. Hmmm, 20% off on a St. Croix 6'6" med rod..
