Its always hard to tell how recruits will turn out Dyas, we have two true freshmen coming in that are reportedly decent: Barnes from California is a pocket passer, Johns who was maybe the best player in Mississippi reportedly reminds people of Steve McNair because of his athleticism. On top of this we have John Parker Wilson, who as a greyshirt already has participated in spring practice and apparently locked up the backup spot on the team. I would say that I'm cautiously optimistic about our QBs for the next few years.

The way I heard it there suppose to be pretty good...... But the only way we will win another national title if our team stays healthy........ And Shula ahs to do a better job caoching this year and not make another mistake like leaving our best quarterback out when were ahead by 30 something runs in the last quarter.......... Anything on our runningbacks yet I havent heard anything about them

Darby is almost recovered, Castille is trying to come back but after shredding both an acl and mcl its gonna be close - maybe a redshirt.

Among the recruits, Upchurch, Sharrief and Coffee are in as I understand it - we are waiting on Ford and that will be tight. Â*

Maybe Darby will get better and will rack up some #'s..................... But hopefully the others will also prove themselves usefull and rack up some #'s and maybe we can win 10 or 11 games this year or at least make it in the top 25.............

I played hs football with Castille at Briarwood. He is super nice and a freaking beast! Simeon is awesome too! His father, Jerimiah was our DB coach for a couple of years as well. I wish it was August already!!!!! 8)

Someone mentioned Wyatt Sexton, the florida state qb who went phsychotic a few weeks ago....well, as it turns out its not drugs but lyme disease that made him freak out. I guess this should be a good example to everyone that they should be very wary of ticks when walking through the woods. Luckily, it seems Sexton will recover but Lyme disease is a serious ailment that deserves our attention.

Its almost time!! The GATORS are a coming. Watch out SEC. Lyme disease sounds like a typical FSU cover up.

31 days till Bama starts to regain its lost national prominence.

Who do yall like for the NC? I think right now the dark horse is Michigan, I don't like USC to repeat. Besides that, no other schools stick out: Tennessee and Florida are both overrated, Iowa won't be there, FSU has qb problems, Miami has faded the past few years, who will it be?

gators overrated? no no no.....if anything underrated.......i think the gators have a good shot either this year, or the near future with urban as the new coach.

Florida has a talented starting 22 but depth isn't there for a run at a national championship. The run defense last year was bad, hence the MSU loss, and the depth at defensive tackle this year I understand is no better. Add to this a new coach and unreal expectations and Florida is setting themselves up for a disappointing year. Also the Urban offensive scheme landed in the wrong conference, SEC is speed, speed, speed. We are gonna pull out our 3-3-5 defensive scheme, and make you try to run north-south. Good luck.

Michigan, OSU, UCLA, Auburn, Georgia. Theres a few more, these are a few to watch I believe. Well, at least to finish #2 behind the FLORIDA GATORS!!!!! WTL, probably right, I see a big name school going big- that usually doesn't.

Forget about Auburn and UGa. UGa has no dependable QB, Auburn has no dependable QBs or RBs, none. Campbell, Williams, Brown and Rosegreen are all gone. Ohio State is worth watching.

well well well.........with more then 90,000 in The Swamp (including me) we took care of Wyoming 32-14. thought the gators played great, but did have a few stupid mistakes. and with only 4 penalties we were very well diciplined. with more then 90,000 fans there we made it into the state of florida history.......the most ever at any event. and the fact that we had no turnovers was great. the o-line needs to improve blocking alittle more, and leak needs to get rid of the gitters. i think by correcting the few mistakes we had last night we will be ready for Louisiana Tech next week.

GO GATORS!

It is extremely ignorant to say that all pro-athletes are on steroids and stuff.

That's like saying all fishermen go for largemouth bass. Yes, a small number of them do, but in the grand scheme of things, very few fishermen world-wide actually go for bass (there are so many kinds!)

My thoughts:

Chad Jackson is a big-time player for the gators. Shame we couldn't get him out of hoover. Looking forward to the UF game in a couple weeks.

UT as I have been screaming for months is overrated.

Auburn will be a good team by years end, but its obvious that the 13-0 year was a once in a lifetime season for them. Cox has a good arm but plays young - he was obviously intimidated by the blitz.

Oklahoma has a long way to go. That program which regenerated might be losing a little momentum.

Fran now has the same record as Shula in the past 3 years. That being said, Shula in that time has had half as many healthy players and is doing the better coaching job - Fran is a snakeoil salesman who fooled what was a distinguished fanbase and school, and they would do well do beg RC Slocum to come back.

Spurrier is doing a great job with his qb once again, but they'l need to develope a running game and their D is questionable.

Notre Dame played well on offense, but they will have much more trouble with michigan.

Alabama started slow, but Croyle got into a good rythym late and Darby and Castille are both 100%. Long season, next up southern miss.

Talking

Gators played well, not liking the rumor that Bortis(?) might replace Leak during the season. Also glad to see that Zook opened up with a win for Illinois. Good game will be Miami vs. FSU. Dont like either but the game will be good. Glad to see the thread back and running. Let the chit talking begin.
