Re: Pork Trailer vs Plastic Trailer
Most of the time I use plastic-a Zoom chunk, a brush hog or a plastic craw. Pork is a little more difficult to use-getting it on and off and the bottles of brine can be a mess. However, I think there is a place for pork, and that is when the water temp gets below 50. For some reason they seem to work better in colder water. Fortunately for me the water around here usually doesn't dip much below 50 even in the dead of winter.

Thanks Lakeguide[/quote] Welcome back, glad to see ya here 8). As for your question, I haven't fished a PNJ much until this year. I've yet to put a pork trialer on it this year(I did last year) I just caught a couple on a PNJ with a Yum Craw attached to it when the bite was real slow. So no I haven't noticed much difference since I haven't used the Pork yet. I have heard more knowledgeable guys than me with PNJ's say that in colder water it does work better, and it wasn't just Rebasser who said it either. Lizards |

Re: Pork Trailer vs Plastic Trailer
I've seen pork ref. plastic drop through the water. Not much difference.
I still use the pork below 60 degrees and the plastic abo.60. "I" think that a bass will hold on to pork a little longer than plastic. NOTE: I have to wait until a bass taps my bait for several minutes before I set the hook. Maybe I should speed up a bit . The only difference is if he runs several yards, then I may react ! |

Re: Pork Trailer vs Plastic Trailer
I'm liking the Denny Brauer 3x chunk..Strike King seems to have worked out that gumming up problem..seems to slow the bait down a little on the drop too.But I've used both with equal results, pork is just a pain to get off the jig..

Re: Pork Trailer vs Plastic Trailer
Water below 55, Pork. It adds just enough bulk to slow up the fall slightly. Above 55, plastic, both Craws and Chunks.
And yes, the fish will hold pork longer, as it has a more natural feel to it. JMO, Charles |
