Jointed rapala

i have heard so much about them but i have yet to ohave any luck. what do yall recommend that i do to get strikes off them. any tip would be great

Which jointed Rapala are you talking about? The Shad Rap or the Husky?

My go to bait when nothing else is working is a jointed shad rap #5 in shad pattern. It is the best small fish bait I've ever used. I've never had extremely large fish on it, just those limit fillers.

I can't read his mind, but I assume he's talking about the lure that's actually called "Jointed Rapala", sorta like the original floated except jointed.

i have only caught one bass on them and it was a accendent

i was musky fishing using the perch colour

i use it almost ALWAYS in ponds...havent really fished lakes yet but they will be my go-to. Anyways, give them the slowest rate of retrieve...i caught my biggest bass and pike reeling it in so slow it wasnt even funny. No matter how slow you reel though, the wobbling is still amazing. i've also caught fish giving it slight twitches instead of a constant retrieve. This is a great lure and don't give up on it because it catches alot of fish. They may not be as big but i always catch alot of bass/pike on it.

Defintley a limit getter. I have had days when they wanted nothing but the color firetiger. I use it almost exclusivley for stream fishing. I try to walk it on top to creata a v wake

back in the early 80's that was all i threw.i caught tons of bas just cruising them over weedbeds slowly.my best color was silver with a black back.

i have a jointed x-rap , i havent gotten a chance to use it yet this season, but as soon the weather warms up i will make sure to give some feedback.

Although the jointed rapalla is a floater diver, I have had most success on it as a surface lure. Cast it to a probable spot and barely twich it. When you do retrieve then do it as slow as possible to leave a wake behind the lure. Works best in clear water. We refer to them as "broken back rapallas".

I'm with Marty!
I use the orginal most often, caught one of my biggest bass in Vermont with one just a sade under 8 lds.
Very very very slow along the weed line
Black and Gold
Also light the fire tiger and perch but B/G is the go to bait
Most often the 4 or 6 inch not sure of the size but in that area.
2 or 3 inch when ultra light for smallies

ya bassmar there was an article in bassmaster mag about that type of fishin they refer to them as wake baits

and the broken back was a rebel lure my gramas favorite broken back blue rebel caught her biggest bass on it
