heres one thing to remember a LM bass is an opportunistic(?) feeder, if they see an easy meal they will most likely take it depending on conditions and so what. As for the bass eating the other bass, it sounds like the second bass was the first fishes mate and it was trying to get it to move away, i have seen this happen numerous times

I, really, don't think it's BS.

1. Maybe the bass on the stringer was on a bedding bass's territory.

2. I've caught a bluegill on lure that was same size as the caught fish.
