Default all-star rods?

are the all-star rods good.i mean the baitcasting ones. also is there any disadvantages from going to a 6'6 rod instead of a 7 footer?

Great rods-just about all I use. For all around fishing I'd go with the 6-6, but it really boils down to personal preference.

Just like a good woman, I keep going back to them.

I've owned and used mostly the All Star for years with the only exception being St. Croix fiberglass rods.

I have not bought a new one since the company was sold however, the older ones are great.

I have a different view HATE em' there real heavy! My firend recently bought one of the titainium for 200 and it was real heavy the BPS XPS are much better than there 200 models.

W/ a 7' you get more distance 6'6'' better accuracy.

I have two and like them. The biggest thing for me when switching from a 6'6" rod to a 7' and back is the difference in release points on the cast. Plus making sure I'm going to clear my surroundings with the longer baitcasting rod. My nastiest birds nests have been because I wasn't paying attention and either hung my lure up in a tree branch near by when fishing from shore or grazing a boat seat on the water.

Sensitive, light, good quality rods. They're by far the best rods I've ever used.

For the little bit i've used them, i'd say they're aight. Anymore, i don't pick up anything unless it's got the St.Croix logo near the handle. I bought a 7' MH this last april, and before that, everything i fished was 6'6". I love it. It get great distance, and i didn't lose any accuracy. I'm thining about getting another this summer. really a great rod. It's personal prefence though with rod length, no matter what anyone says.

I agree that these are quality rods, I personally use shimano ords, and I love them. I also perfer 7' over 6'6". But it is all about what feels good in your hands, and when you are ripping lips.
