I have the Standard Round series one, and it is one of my smoothest, nicest reels i have.

I've never fished one but have heard good things about them. Bottom line, though, is do YOU like it since you are going to be the one using it.

If all you are worried about is wasting line here is a solution: Get a long bolt that you can screw a wingnut on. Put the bolt through the hole in the spool the line came off and put the end of the bolt in a drill. Tighten the wingnut to hold the spool in place, tie the end of the line on the reel to the end of the line on the spool and wind the line back on the spool using the drill. No wasted line.

Nope. Â*Figured that one out on my own ;D. Â*I wanted a quick way to strip line off a reel, and the spool attached to a drill really did the trick. Especially if I was stripping braid off the reel and wanted to use it again.

I have two or three Pro Qualifier SE baitcast reels (low profile). If these are the reels you are referring to, they are nice reels. They are reliable and work well. The only drawback to them is they have a graphite frame instead of an aluminum frame. I just feel that the aluminum will hold up better over a longer period of time, but so far I have had no problems with them and I put them to heavy use.

I think it is a fine combo. In the latest issue of Bassmaster it says that Edwin Evers used one to win an Open tournament, so I guess that means it's decent enough for him...or he gets them free! But, from what I've heard (never used one, but may get one for Christmas) they are a good reel, some people just don't like the fact that they don't have a solid aluminium frame.
