Crankbait tip
Ever fish crankbaits so much that the lip gets worn and it effects the action of your bait doesn't get down as far. Take a file and file the lip to touch it up a bit to make it get back its edge. By doing this your baits will achieve its maximum depth again and have it's original action.

Re: Crankbait tip
We used to throw crankbaits up against the rocks and rogues too, so much that occasionally you break off the bill, and when you go to replace the whole crankbait or rogue, it never quite acts like your favorite that you broke.
My fishing partner came up with the idea to buy the exact same thickness in lexon-safety plastic, and traced the shape of a bill, cut it out with a jig saw and sanded it, then epoxied it into place.. it takes some time, but when you sitting around the house not fishing, its something to do, make up some spares, get a 2 liquid mix of epoxy and go to town! |
