better outboard

i qusse all yall seen the pic of my boat. but i still dont have poawer tilt and trim. im just about to get it, but i want to chang the lil 40hp to a big 60hp. can i do this?

I guess you can buy a 60, only you know.

I doubt you could bore out a 40 that much. I'm not even sure exactly what you were asking. :-/

WTL,

what i ment is there's a liment to a sise of a outboard for a certin sise of a boat....that what i have heard so if im rong im sorry .

Yes, certainly. Normally there is a plate either on the transom or near the console that gives both the limit to the horsepower a boat can have and how much weight it can carry. My boat is so old it doesn't have that, but then again I think noah used my boat as a lifeboat.

If you want help, try spelling correctly, and use sentences. If you need to find out if the motor will fit, well go ask the manufacturer what the max HP rating is for that boat. Pretty basic, and simple. If you can't do these things, than ask mom or dad to help.

the boat is homemade.it like a randlecraft, but a bit smaller. i think it lighter than most boats also.

Not sure what a randlecraft is? I would think since it's a homemade boat, it probably has a good size for it. Why do you need a 60hp is it not fast enough? I would seriously hesitate to upsize a motor on a homemade boat. However I am by no means a expert on boats. Perhaps if you go to a http://bassboatcentral.com they could better answer your question. No matter what you do you won't have the fastest boat on the water with that rig, perhaps trading it in or selling it and buying a new boat would be a better option. This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't buy a homemade boat, for a lot of reasons, since you can't get any replacement parts for the boat, and you never truly know what it can and can't handle. Now back to the question, it will depend a lot on the size and weight, and ballast of the boat. But again, I'm not the expert about boats, many other folks are better suited to help you than me. :-[
