Pontoon boat trolling motor

I have an 18 foot Suntracker Party Barge. I would like to put a trolling motor on, but have no idea what to look for. Can anyone give me some help? I want to put it on the front of the boat.

BUZZ,

Â* Â* You need to measure the distance from the deck to the water to figure how long a shaft you will need. I would guess a 52 inch or longer. You will also need the most power you can afford to pull a barge around, at least 74 lb thrust, if not more. You are going to need at least 2 batteries to run a 24 volt system, and maybe a 101 lb thrust TM, which means 3 batteries. This is not going to be a cheap venture.
Â* Â* You should probably talk to some of the other barge owners and find out what they are running and how it is working out for them.
