trailer on spinnerbaits?

Most of the time instead of a trailer I have a trailer hook. That said, there are times when a curl tailed grub can make a difference, but the trailer hook works fine for me.

I've used a trailer with a trailer hook. The combination of the two help in two ways. The trailer keeps the hook in position and the trailer hook takes care of the short strikers. I try to match the color of the trailer to the skirt.

i use a single curl tailed grub 4" long on my spinnerbait if i do -which is rare-add a trailer hook i turn the grub so the curl is away from the hook as to not interfear with hook ups..

Unless the fish are really picky and you have had to downsize your baits, I always recommend using a trailer on your spinnerbaits. You can even use a trailer with a trailer hook, just be sure to put the trailer on before. 3x plastics has a spinnerbait trailer that works really well and is very durable. More important than using a trailer is using a trailer hook. Unless you are bringing back grass on every cast, I think its always worth having a trailer hook. It doesn't effect the performance of the spinnerbait and will catch those bass that aren't aggresively going after your bait. Make sure that your trailer hook swings freely on the hook shank. This will decrease the chance of a bass tossing the bait on a jump. Hope this helps.

Yes, but it would probably be easier to rig the worm on the trailer hook first, then attach it to the main hook. I've never done this, so wouldn't know how well it would work out.
